The Quarterly Climate Impacts and Outlook for the Western Region—encompassing Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming—provides a summary of the region's weather and climate impacts from the previous quarter, and outlooks for conditions during the coming quarter.

The product highlights signficant events and discusses conditions observed across the West, such as temperature and precipitation anomalies and drought conditions. Additionally, the report summarizes conditions that affect fire, drought, flooding, and water resources, as well as impacts on recreation. For the upcoming quarter, the product offers outlooks documenting the most likely temperature and precipitation conditions, the state of the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO), drought status, and conditions that affect wildfires, agricultural, and livestock concerns.
