Flood exposure maps allow officials to pinpoint and understand the vulnerability of their communities in terms of people, infrastructure, and natural resources. During this online training to be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 1:00 PM EDT, you’ll learn how to use these maps to engage your community—and hear a professional share examples of using flood exposure maps to help stakeholders understand local flood risk and improve coastal resilience.
On Friday, October 12, at 1:00 PM Eastern, David Herring, manager of the NOAA Climate Program Office's (CPO) Communication, Education and Engagement (CEE) division, will discuss the new Fiscal Year 2019 Federal Funding Opportunity (FFO), titled "Building U.S. Communities’ and Businesses’ Resilience to Extreme Events.” Additionally, John Nordgren, director of the Climate Resilience Fund, will describe the CRF's annual grant opportunity.
The U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit team has unveiled an enhanced version of its “Climate Explorer” — a free, web-based mapping and graphing tool providing decision-relevant climate data for every county in the contiguous United States.
